MOROCCO. 1♂, labelled “Comparado al tipo” / Guerrouane , Maroc / 3.VI.1944 / Ch. Rungs leg. / J. Suárez det. 1969 / Colección Suárez [ MNCN _Ent 96036] .

Distribution: Morocco ( Pagliano et al. 2020; this study).

Remarks. According to existing keys for the tribe Smicromyrmini (e.g. Lelej 1985, 2002; Pagliano & Strumia 2007), this species should be classified within Physetopoda genus for the following reasons: 1) felt lines are located on the sides of T2, unlike Smicromyrme , which typically exhibits them on both T2 and S2; 2) basivolsellar setae notably protrude beyond the apex of gonostylus ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ), compared to that of Smicromyrme species which are no longer beyond the volsellar cuspis.
