Margarinotus (Ptomister) immunis (Erichson, 1834) View in CoL
Hister immunis Erichson 1834: 143 .
Hister interruptus immunis ; Blatchley 1910: 605. Synonym.
Margarinotus immunis (Erichson) View in CoL ; Wenzel 1944: 126.
Remarks. Although Horn (1873) and Fall (1901) specifically cite California records for M. immunis , I believe these to represent misidentifications. At the time (using Horn’ s 1873 key), any North American Margarinotus exhibiting two complete pronotal striae and an abbreviated sutural elytral stria would have been identified as this. Western taxa fitting this description had not yet been described, though there are several possibilities. Bousquet and Laplante (2006) report this species as being restricted to eastern North America.
