Genus Auritoglyptes Kolbasov & Newman, 2005
Auritoglyptes Kolbasov & Newman, 2005: 44 –47
Type species. Auritoglyptes bicornis (Aurivillius, 1892) .
Diagnosis. Lithoglyptinae having 2-segmented caudal appendages plus pedestals, operculum with pair of long, articulated posterior processes (“auricles”), opercular bars with well developed posterior projections, mantle without orificial knob and lateral bars.
Remarks. Kolbasov and Newman 2005 erected Auritoglyptes as a monotypic genus, represented by A. bicornis (Aurivillius, 1892) , which morphologically but not necessarily genetically is a senior synonym of Lithoglyptes spinatus Tomlinson & Newman, 1960 .
