T y p e m a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Holotype ♂ [dissected prior to present study; most of median lobe of aedeagus missing; remainder of aedeagus transferred from microvial to transparent slide]: "Morée: Taygète, IX.1953, J. Brondeel / G. Fagel det., scheerpeltzianus n. sp. / Type / Quedius limbatus (Heer) , det. V. Assing 2018 " ( IRSNB).

C o m m e n t: The original description of Q. scheerpeltzianus is based on a male holotype from "Morée: Taygète" and a male paratype from "Anatolie: Amasia " ( FAGEL 1968c). An examination of the holotype revealed that it belongs to the macropterous morph of Q. limbatus .
