Gonatopus nicator Olmi 1998d: 94 .
Material examined. Type. Holotype ♀: BOTSWANA: 30 Km W of Palapye, 10.IV.1997, by sweeping, M. Olmi leg. ( AMNH).
Redescription. Female: apterous; length 3.9 mm. Completely ferruginous, except metasoma partly brown. Antenna clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 10:6:19:10:9:7:6:5:5:8. Head excavated, dull, granulated; frontal line absent; face with narrow median furrow in front of anterior ocellus and reaching approximately mid length of face; occipital carina absent; temple distinct; occiput dull, granulated; POL = 1.5; OL = 3; OOL = 11. Palpal formula 5/3. Pronotum shiny, sculptured by numerous longitudinal striae, crossed by strong transverse furrow. Scutum shiny, sculptured by many longitudinal striae, without lateral pointed apophyses. Scutellum inclined. Metanotum sculptured by short longitudinal keels, very hollow behind scutellum ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15 – 18. 15, 16 ); sides of metanotum protruding; lateral protrusions of metanotum rounded. Metathorax + propodeum dull, with anterior surface sculptured by many longitudinal striae; disc of metathorax + propodeum with strong median longitudinal furrow; posterior surface of propodeum, mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Mesometapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsal segments in following proportions: 17:4:6:16:28. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15 – 18. 15, 16 ) with two rows of about 13 lamellae; distal apex with about 18 lamellae. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15 – 18. 15, 16 ) with one large subdistal tooth and one row of seven lamellae and one bristle. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
