Material examined. Type. Holotype ♀: SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape Province, Matjesfontein, 1-6.XI–1928, R.E. Turner leg. ( BMNH). Other material. SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape Province, near Cape Town, Milnerton, I.1926, R.E. Turner leg., 1♀ ( BMNH).

Redescription. Female: apterous; length 3.6 mm. Head of holotype reddish-dark (brown-black in specimen from South Africa, Milnerton); antenna reddish-dark, except segment 10 whitish; prothorax and scutum of holotype testaceous (brown-reddish in specimen from South Africa, Milnerton); rest of mesosoma black, with distal extremity of propodeum reddish; petiole black; metasoma reddish-dark; legs testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of holotype in following proportions: 21:14:35:22:17:13:11:12:11:18. Head excavated, dull, granulated; frontal line complete; occipital carina incomplete, only very shortly visible on sides of posterior ocelli; POL = 3; OL = 6; OOL = 25. Palpal formula 5/3. Pronotum shiny, smooth, with some longitudinal keels, crossed by strong transverse furrow. Scutum with two lateral pointed apophyses, situated on sides of scutellum. Metanotum short, hollow behind scutellum, with sides rounded. Metathorax + propodeum shiny, unsculptured, with posterior surface of propodeum, mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsal segment 1 shorter than segment 4 (15:17). Segment 5 of protarsus ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 – 7. 5 ) with two rows of 12–30 lamellae; distal apex with 10–25 lamellae. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 – 7. 5 ) with one large subdistal tooth and one row of 6–8 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
