( Figs 25K–O View FIGURE25 , 26 View FIGURE 26 , 27A–C View FIGURE 27 )
Males. Frons weakly coriaceous , without color reflect of body metallic. Clypeus short; median clypeal carina as high as epistomal suture, in lateral view; antenna not elongate; antennal scrobe ecarinate. Pronotal disc with transverse carina complete. Metapostnotum with first pair of metapostnotal carina and metapostnotal-propodeal suture convergence absent; propodeal declivity with sculpture present. Mesopleuron with lower mesopleural fovea opened and mesopleural suture closed. Forewing with Cu vein and R-rs&Rs vein distinct. Hind wing with two or two proximal and four distal hamuli. Posterior hypopygeal margin notched. Genitalia with paramere longer than basiparamere; inner margin of basivolsella excavated.
Females. Unknown
Distribution. It is restricted to Neotropical region.
Remarks. This species-group is characterized by having the posterior hypopygeal margin notched. This characteristic is also observed in the amazonicus and cupreolus species-groups, suggesting it is a convergent characteristic. However, we identify some other characteristic shared among these species that were formerly placed in the proteus species-group. Therefore, we propose this new species-group composed of 16 species( Table 1), and under the name strictus .
