Description, male. Body length 3.92 mm. Head with darkish green reflection; mesosoma with darkish blue reflection and metapectal-propodeal disc black; wings clear hyaline; metasoma dark castaneous. Head wide. Flagellomeres short, with dense and short setae. Mandible narrow, slightly angled, and with lower tooth longer than others. Median clypeal lobe rounded, short. Frons coriaceous . Antennal scrobe ecarinate. Eye large. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute; ocelli large. Vertex convex. Pronotal disc as long as wide, strongly coriaceous ; transverse pronotal carina absent; without posterior pronotal sulcus. Notaulus very narrow. Mesoscutellar sulcus narrow. Metapectal-propodeal disc short; metapostnotal median carina complete; longitudinal ridges absent; metapostnotal-propodeal suture straight; paraspiracular carina present and inconspicuous; metapleural carina present and conspicuous; metapectal-propodeal disc polished; propodeal declivity strigate. Mesopleuron with anterior fovea closed; mesopleural fovea opened; lower fovea opened; posterior fovea absent; mesopleural suture opened. Forewing with stigma developed; Rs&M vein distinguished. Mesotibia not spinose. Claws trifid. Metasomal segments sparsely setose. Genitalia. Basiparamere as long as paramere; paramere wide, rounded, with ventral margin convex and dorsal margin straight, and basal portion angled, sparsely setose; basivolsella with apical excavation at inner margin; cuspis with arms short, with basal projection at inner margin, dorsal arm wide; aedeagus with basal portion convex and slender, and apical portion as long as basal and slender; apodeme slender.

Material examined. Holotype, ♂, NICARAGUA, Granada, Volcan Mombacho, Santa Ana 3, 11°49'34"N 85°58'03"W, 15.v.1998 —Mal[aise] trap, J.M. Maes col[ector] ( SEAN). Paratypes (3). NICARAGUA, Granada, 1 ♂, Volcan Mombacho, Santa Ana 1, 2.vi.1998 —Mal[aise] trap, J.M. Maes col[ector] ( SEAN); 1 ♂, Santa Ana 2, 15.v.1998; 1 ♂, San Joaquim 1, 31.iii.1998.

Distribution. Nicaragua.

Remarks. This new species differs from A. inconspicuus by having the antennal flagellomeres short; the mandible with the lower tooth longer than the others; the clypeus rounded and short, and with the clypeal carina higher than frons level; the antennal scrobe ecarinate; the ocelli large; the mesopleural fovea opened; the paramere with the apex rounded; the basiparamere excavated; the basivolsella with an apical excavation at inner margin; and the aedeagus with the apical portion slender, whereas A. inconspicuus has the antennal flagellomeres long; the mandible with with the teeth equally wide; the clypeus angulate and long, with the clypeal carina lower than frons level; the antennal scrobe carinate, but weak; the ocelli small; the mesopleural fovea closed; the basiparamere uniform; the paramere with the apex truncate; the basivolsella straight; and the aedeagus with the apical portion wide.
