Anisepyris amazonicus ( Westwood, 1874) . Combined and defined as type-species by Kieffer, 1905, 41: 443. Epyris eganus Westwood, 1874 , 4: 160. Synonym by Evans, 1966, 9: 99.
Redescription, female. Body length 7.61 mm. Head with green reflection; mesosoma with green reflection and metapectal-propodeal disc black; wings subhyaline; metasoma castaneous. Head wide. Mandible with four distal teeth, wide, strongly angled, with teeth different sized. Median clypeal lobe rounded, short; median clypeal carina swollen. Frons coriaceous ; antennal scrobe carinate. Eye large. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute; ocelli small. Vertex convex. Pronotal disc as long as wide, sparsely punctate; transverse pronotal carina present, incomplete; posterior margin without posterior pronotal sulcus. Notaulus very narrow. Mesoscutellar disc with mesoscutellar sulcus narrow. Metapectal-propodeal disc long; metapostnotal median carina complete; longitudinal ridges present; metapostnotal-propodeal suture straight; paraspiracular carina present and conspicuous; metapleural carina present and conspicuous; metapectal-propodeal disc with short striae; propodeal declivity strigate. Mesopleuron with anterior fovea closed; mesopleural fovea closed; lower fovea closed; posterior fovea absent; mesopleural suture closed. Forewing with stigma developed; Rs&M vein distinguished. Mesotibia spinose; claws trifid. Metasomal segments sparsely setose. Genitalia. T9 with slender and with dorsal lap swollen posteriorly; 1vv longer than genitalia body; 2vv as long as 1vv length, smoothly narrowing apicad; 3vv short; 1vf strongly curved forward; 2vf slender and with dorsal lap strongly swollen posteriorly; 1rv not curved, ventral process large, and posterior process short; 2rv not curved.
Redescription, male. Body length 5.92 mm. Head with green reflection; mesosoma with green reflection and metapectal-propodeal disc black; wings sub-hyaline; metasoma dark castaneous. Head wide. Flagellomeres long, with dense and short setae. Mandible wide, slightly angled, teeth not equally sized. Median clypeal lobe rounded, long. Frons coriaceous . Antennal scrobe carinate. Eye large. Frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute; ocelli large. Vertex convex. Pronotal disc as long as wide, sparsely punctate; transverse pronotal carina present, incomplete; with posterior pronotal sulcus. Notaulus very narrow. Mesoscutellar sulcus narrow. Basiparamere shorter than paramere; paramere slender and fusiform, sparsely setose; basivolsella with inner margin excavated; cuspis with arms long, with basal projection at inner margin, dorsal arm wide; aedeagus basal portion convex and slender, apical portion as long as basal portion and slender; apodeme slender.
