Types. Holotype male and paratype female from Cueva Lines, Parque Nacional Los Haitises (19°2’38”N 69°35’34.43”W), Sabana de la Mar, Hato Mayor Province, Dominican Republic, 12.V.2012, I. Agnarsson col., deposited in NMNH. Paratypes: male and female same data as holotype, deposited in IBSP 166719.
Other material examined. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. Hato Mayor Province: Sabana de la Mar, Parque Nacional Los Haitises , Cueva Lines (19°2'38"N 69°35'34.43"W), 4♀, 12.V.2012, I. Agnarsson col. ( NMNH DR08); Parque Nacional Los Haitises , Cueva Arena (19°3'29.6"N 69°27'12.3"W), 2♀ 3 imm., 12.VI.2012, I. Agnarsson col. ( NMHN DR07), Ditto, 2♀ ( IBSP 166720). Pedernales Province: Hoyo de Pelempito, Boca Cosón (18°8'12"N 71°31'17"W), 426 m., 1♀ 1 imm., 26.VII.2012, C. Marte & G. de Los Santos col. ( MNHNSD 09.1333).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.
Diagnosis. Antilloides haitises n. sp. is distinguished from other species by tibial spines shorter than the cymbium and an embolus that is slender at the tip ( Figs 14C‒D View FIGURE 14 A ‒ E 16A‒H View FIGURE 16 A ‒ H , 20E‒F View FIGURE 20 A ‒ G. A ‒ C ). The females differ by the elongated and very large uterus externus and the enlarged necks of the spermathecae ( Figs 14E View FIGURE 14 A ‒ E , 20G View FIGURE 20 A ‒ G. A ‒ C ).
Description. Male (Holotype). Carapace and legs yellowish. Chelicerae orange. Labium and endites orange at tips and yellow at bases. Sternum yellow. Palps and legs grayish with sparse black stripes. Abdomen dorsally grayishwith 6–7 black chevrons, ventrally white ( Fig. 14A View FIGURE 14 A ‒ E ). Total length 2.1. Carapace length 1.1, width 0.75. PME separated by their diameter. Palp measurements: femur 0.7 long, patella 0.25 long, tibia 0.35 long, 0.2 wide.
Leg measurements: I femur 1.4/ patella 0.5/ tibia 1.8/ metatarsus 1.4/ tarsus 0.8/ total 5.4; II 1.1/ 0.4/ 1.2/ 0.9/ 0.6/ 4.2; III 0.8/ 0.4/ 0.7/ 0.7/ 0.5/ 3.1; IV 1.1/ 0.4/ 1.1/ 1.1/ 0.6/ 4.3. Palp: tibiae longer than cymbium, with two spines ( Fig. 16B‒G View FIGURE 16 A ‒ H ). Abdomen 1.2 long.
Female. (Paratype MNHNCu). Coloration as in male, except carapace reddish and legs gray with sparse black stripes (14B). Total length 4.0. Carapace length 1.6, width 1.1. PME separated by their diameter. Palp measurements: femur 0.9 long, patella 0.4 long. Leg measurements: I femur 1.7/ patella 0.6/ tibia 1.9/ metatarsus 1.2/ tarsus 1.0/ total 6.4; II 1.3/ 0.6/ 1.0/ 0.7/ 0.6/ 4.2; III 1.0/ 0.5/ 0.7/ 0.6/ 0.6/ 3.0; IV 1.5/ 0.6/ 1.3/ 1.1/ 0.7/ 5.2. Abdomen 2.3 long. Spermathecae oval ( Figs 14E View FIGURE 14 A ‒ E , 20G View FIGURE 20 A ‒ G. A ‒ C ).
Natural history. All specimens were collected by hand on the walls inside of caves at Parque Nacional Los Haitises .
Distribution. Known only from Dominican Republic ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 A).
