Notes: A female from the type series does not belong to Elachistidae ( Parenti 1988: 192–193).

Vári et al. (2002: 40) consider Symphoristis ptychospila Meyrick, 1918 as valid species; it is the type species of the genus Symphoristis Meyrick, 1918 .
