Diagnosis. Ariadna cephalotes is similar to A. boliviana due to the morphology of the male metatarsi I, with short ventro-prolateral macrosetae ( Figs 34C‒E View FIGURE34 , 36C‒E View FIGURE 36 ), and tibiae I‒II macrosetae pattern of females, but differ by the male palp with short embolus with a basal anterior keel ( Fig. 35A‒B View FIGURE 35 ); females differ by the presence of an anterior receptaculum with the dorsal lobe with enlarged tip, and ventral lobe depressed ventrally ( Fig. 35C‒D View FIGURE 35 ).

Note. Although Grismado's drawing (2008: figs 8J‒K) show the dorsal lobe with a less enlarged tip that the specimen we present in this study ( Figs 35C‒D View FIGURE 35 ), both specimens present the ventral lobe depressed ventrally.

Description. Male (MCN 24097). Carapace and chelicerae brownish orange ( Fig. 34A View FIGURE34 ). Endites orange; labium dark orange. Sternum orange with darker margins, and marbled with dark pigment ( Fig. 34B View FIGURE34 ). Palps light orange ( Fig. 35A‒B View FIGURE 35 ). Legs orange, with pairs I‒II darker and dark pigment forming diffuse rings in the distal region of femur, patella, tibia, metatarsi and tarsi ( Fig. 34C‒E View FIGURE34 ). Abdomen grey ( Fig. 34A‒B View FIGURE34 ). Total length 6.24; carapace 2.72 long, 2.08 wide. Palps: tibia incrassated, with the dorso-ventral diameter shorter than the bulb; bulb rounded, mid-portion and embolus with equal lenghts; embolus tubular and curved abruptly ( Fig. 35A‒B View FIGURE 35 ). Legs: robust and coated with setae ( Fig. 34C‒E View FIGURE34 ); tarsal brush of putative chemosensory setae present in legs I‒III, but reduced in pair I. Leg formula: I-II-IV-III.
