1. Although the presence of this genus in Malta is likely, no recent material has been seen and some of Zetterstedt’s identifications of this group are doubtful. This means that the species recorded by him from Malta may not be striolata .

2. According to V. Michelsen (pers. comm.), this is a possible misidentification of D. hirticrura ( Rondani, 1871) .

3. A probable misidentification of D. planipalpis , see Ebejer (2021b).

4. This is a species complex in need of further taxonomic study and more than one species may be present on Malta ( Ebejer 2021b). The identification of sponsa is provisional and sensu lato.
