Note: Records of Triatominae from Corrientes were recorded by instars, provincial departments and seasons ( Bar et al. 1999; Damborsky et al. 2001; Bar et al. 2002), but not by localities and/or species of birds’ nests, or by the number of specimens found per nest. The data presented by Bar et al. (1999) were taken from a total of 100 birds’ nests, of which 93 % were of Annumbius annumbi (Vieillot, 1817) and Phacellodomus ruber (Vieillot, 1817) [ Furnariidae ], and the remaining 7 % were of Myiopsitta monacha cotorra (Vieillot, 1817) [ Psittacidae ], Pitangus sulphuratus [bolivianus (Lafresnaye, 1852)] [ Tyrannidae ], Tyrannus savana [ savana Vieillot, 1807 ] [ Tyrannidae ], and Zonotrichia capensis [hypoleuca (Todd, 1915)] [Emberyzidae] (see under the respective bird species). Therefore, all these records are of dubious value for birds’ nests species. In the work of Bar & Wisnivesky-Colli (2001), “bird nests were present in 26.7 % (8 / 30) palms and half of them (4 / 8) belonged to the Furnariidae family”, and “the whole T. sordida population collected was 272 live specimens; 36 of them (13.2 %) were found in bird nests located in the palm frond”; only a small number of triatomines in one undetermined nest was recorded.
