Type: CHINA. Sichuan, Tongolo, 1893, J.A.Soulié 705(619) (lectotype: P03810931 ! designated by Pimenov, 2017: 131; isolectotype: K001091334) .

Notes: — C. paradoxum have entire and ovate-lanceolate radical leaves, linear and entire bracts and fruits with obviously regular, thick ribs. In addition, the taxonomic identification of this species can be inferred on the basis of its geography distribution.

Distribution in China: — Sichuan. Endemic. ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 )

Habitat: —The species occurs in thick growth of grass or shrubs.
