1. Eugenia roxburghii De Candolle. View in CoL
= Eugenia fasciculata Wallich ex Blume (1850: 87) View in CoL . Lectotype (designated here):— BANGLADESH. Mount Pundua , s.d., F. De Silva (Wallich no. 3622) (K001119849! image: http://specimens.kew.org/herbarium/K001119849; isolectotypes: M 0137672 , M 0137673 , L 0822648, L 0822648, NY 405055). Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 .
Note: — Wallich (1832) in his A numerical list of dried specimens of plants in the East India Company’s Museum proposed the name E. fasciculata View in CoL ; this name was not validly published there (nomen nudum; Articles 38.1 and 38.2 of ICN, Turland et al. 2018). Later, Blume (1850) based on specimen Wallich catalogue no. 3622 provided a description and validly published the name. Major collections of Wallich are now deposited at Kew herbarium ( Stafleu & Cowan 1988: 37). Our search in K resulted in finding a Wallich specimen numbered “3622” and identified as E. fasciculata View in CoL , matching the information of Wallich’s list and Blume’s protologue. The sheet has two flowering twigs and two annotated labels, one stating the information from Wallich catalogue and other written “ Eugenia fasciculata Wall. View in CoL 3622. E montibus Pundua , Sylhet confinibus ”. Hence, the specimen K001119849 matches with the protologue and is here designated as lectotype.
