Type locality. New Jersey, USA. On beds of Mytilis edulis .
Type material. Syntype USNM 71678.
Records. Trinidad and Tobago: Oropuche ( Gobin 1990). Colombia: Cienaga de Tesca (Laverde-Castillo & Rodríguez-Gómez 1987).
Remarks. Streblospio benedicti has a wide distribution in the Grand Caribbean; its identity is questionable and should be confirmed against the type material.
