Diagnosis. Body length 210–535 μm. Funicle 7-segmented with fu 2 ring-like, much shorter than fu 1 or fu 3 ( Figs 189, 190 View FIGURES 189–192 ); mandible with 1 tooth ( Fig. 203 View FIGURES 198–203 ); head posteriorly with median vertical coronal sulcus extending medially from vertexal suture to meet postorbital sulcus and postorbital sulcus extending from above foramen laterally to below eye ( Figs 186 View FIGURES 185–188 , 199 View FIGURES 198–203 ); fore wing narrow, with posterior margin concave and apex slightly but distinctly curved ( Figs 184 View FIGURE 184 , 192 View FIGURES 189–192 ); petiole slightly longer than wide ( Figs 193 View FIGURES 193, 194 , 212–214 View FIGURES 210–214 ). Male flagellum with fl 2 and often fl 3 ringlike, much shorter than remaining segments ( Fig. 191 View FIGURES 189–192 ).

Discussion. Camptoptera belongs to the Camptoptera group of genera together with Camptopteroides , Eofoersteria , Macrocamptoptera , Ptilomymar and Stephanocampta . Huber & Lin (1999) had also included Callodicopus in the group, but on balance of features, particularly the mesophagma projecting into the gaster, Callodicopus fits better in the Alaptus group rather than the Camptoptera group, in which the mesophragma does not project through the petiole into the gaster. The two groups are more closely related to each other than to any other group of genera, with Callodicopus appearing to form the link between them.

Nearctic hosts. Coleoptera :? Ciidae , Curculionidae (Scolytinae) .

Important references. Girault (1929 [428]), Huber & Lin (1999), Triapitsyn (2014b).
