Treatment

Distribution in Iran. Golestan ( Wanat 1992; Ghahari & Colonnelli 2012), Northern Khorasan ( Hoffmann 1968 as Apion merale ), Mazandaran ( Legalov et al. 2010).

New material examined. Razavi Khorasan province, Kuh-e Binalud Mts., Torqabeh , 1700 m, N 36°17’ E 59°17’, 4♂♂, 2♀♀, 9.v.2008, leg. & collection M. Košťál GoogleMaps .

General distribution. Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Plant associations in Iran. Occasionally found on Artemisia herba-alba Asso (Asteraceae) ( Hoffmann 1968). All Metapion are associated with Rutaceae , and several species were collected by M. Košťál on Haplophyllum spp. in Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (M. Košťál, personal communication).
