Hygrobates properus Láska, 1954 — nov. syn.
Material examined. MMB 145 Hygrobates properus Láska 1954 2 ♀ (on the same slide with female of Hygrobates incurvatus Láska, 1954 ) 369-1 Slovakia, Studený potok v Podbielu—Orava, 16.7.1951, leg. Láska.
Láska (1954) described Hygrobates properus on the basis of a female from the Orava River and its tributaries, Slovakia. A re-examination of specimens of H. properus from the type series shows that from all points of view (genital plates sickle-shaped, with strongly concave medial margins, pregenital and postgenital sclerites with an extended border of a porose secondary sclerotization, pregenital sclerite with three to four setae) these specimens are in perfect agreement with H. trigonicus . Thus H. properus should be considered a junior synonym of H. trigonicus .
