Described from Algeria, it has a wide distribution, being recorded from Israel, Iran, Mongolia, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. The larvae develop in stems of Phragmites australis View in CoL .

From this material two females dissected have each been found to contain a single large egg, in one of which a segmented larva with discernible cephaloskeleton was clearly visible. The male terminalia are illustrated ( Plate 7 View PLATE 7 , Fig. 31).
