Prodorsal shield 47 (46–47), 59 (58– 60) wide; semicircular; frontal lobe present; median line absent, admedian and submedian lines connected at center and basal 3/4 by transverse lines, forming 3 large cells, with numerous granules. Dorsal tubercles near rear margin, 30 (29–30) apart, scapular setae (sc) 5 (4–5) projecting posteriorly. Coxal area with short lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum І (1b) 9 (8–9), proximal setae on coxisternum І (1a) 21 (19–22), proximal setae on coxisternum І (2a) 35 (32–37). Prosternal apodeme present. Legs with usual series of setae. Legs І 30 (28–32), femur 10 (9–10), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 6 (5–7); genu 5 (4–5), antaxial genual setae (l'') 18 (18–19); tibia 7 (6–7), paraxial tibial setae (l') 5 (5–6), setae located 1/3 from dorsal base; tarsus 4 (4–5); empodium simple, 6-rayed, tarsal solenidion rodlike. Types. Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Yang County, Huayang, 33.58°N, 107.53°E. August 11, 2005, from Dalbergia hupeana Hance (Leguminosae) , coll. Xue, Xiao-Feng and Song, Zi-Wei. Paratypes, 8 females and 2 males, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology. The specific designation hupeanae is from the species name of the host plant, hupeana .
Remarks. This species is similar to Tetra dalbergiae Kuang & Zhuo, 1989 , but can be differentiated by female genital coverflap with 14 longitudinal ridges (female genital coverflap smooth in T. dalbergiae ), median line absent (median line present in T. dalbergiae ), dorsal annuli with short-line microtubercles (dorsal annuli with round microtubercles in T. dalbergiae ).
