Legs 43 (41–45), femur 9 (9–10), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 11 (10–11); genu 4 (4–5), antaxial genual setae (l'') 10 (9–10); tibia 10 (9–11); tarsus 6 (5–6); empodium simple, 9rayed, solenidion slightly knobbed. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 47 (44–52) annuli, with spiny microtubercles, ventrally with 64 (62–68) annuli, with spiny microtubercles. Setae c2 41 (41–45) on ventral annulus 11 (11–12); setae d 40 (38–42) on ventral annulus 25 (24–26); setae e 43 (41–45) on ventral annulus 41 (40–43), setae f 31 (30–33) on 6th ventral annulus from rear. MALE: Unknown.
Types. Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Yang County, 33°41.57’N, 107°37.09’E. August 11, 2005, from Sophora japonica L. (Leguminosae), coll. Xue, XiaoFeng and Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 4 females, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed. Etymology. The specific designation songxianensis is from the place where the host plant and the mite were found, Yang County.
Remarks. This species is similar to Aculops sophorae Kuang, 1989 , but can be differentiated by coxal area with short lines (coxal area with granules in A. sophorae ), empodium 9rayed (empodium 7rayed in A. sophorae ), dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in A. sophorae ) and different prodorsal shield designs.
