KUW fieldwork, scuba diving 15–17 m, sediment suction pump, sandy bottom, coral boulders, 1 male (LC 4.2 mm) both second pereiopods and right first pereiopod lost), MNHN-Na 17575; St 17, 10/11/2009, 11h–14h, North reef, 12°34'49.93"S, 45° 5'52.62"E, coll. Colouration (fig. 7). Body transparent, with oblique red stripes on anterolateral carapace.
Distribution. Type locality Balabac Strait, North Borneo. Also known with certainty from the Egyptian Red Sea, Zanzibar, Comoro Islands, Seychelles, Burma, China, Papua, New Guinea, New Caledonia, Marshall Islands, and French Polynesia (Tuamotu Islands).
Remarks. The specimens agree with the previous descriptions and illustrations. The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte. This is the first time to report the colouration of the species. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17562 was collected together with 1 female of Harpiliopsis depressa ( Stimpson, 1860) (MNHN-Na 17561), 1 ovigerous female of Harpilius consobrinus De Man, 1902 (MNHN-Na 17560), and 1 female of Palaemonella spinulata Yokoya, 1936 (MNHN-Na 17563) at Station 23. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17575 was collected together with 1 female of Harpiliopsis depressa ( Stimpson, 1860) (MNHN-Na 17576) at Station 14. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17557 was collected together with 1 male of Palaemonella crosnieri Bruce, 1978 (MNHN-Na 17558) at Station 17.
