Main morphological characters

). Size 80–150
×

in vivo
. Body drop-like to lanceolate, with usually broadly rounded posterior end. Usually two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. At least two (3–5) ventral contractile vacuoles: one subterminal and other one in about mid-body. Extrusomes broadly fusiform, about 4–6 µm long, attached to anterior half of oral bulge and scattered in cytoplasm. Somatic ciliary pattern

Distribution.
Litonotus varsaviensis
was recorded in submerged mosses from Slovenský Raj at a frequency of 1.88 (
