. Length 3 lines. Black, with the abdomen smooth and shi. ning; the head and thorax subopake, and thinly covered with cinereous pile; mandibles shining black; the palpi pale testaceous.. Thorax armed in front with two stout acute spines, the metathorax with two, more slender and longer diverging spines; the peduncle has two long spines which curve round the base of the abdomen; the
tibiae
ferruginous, but more or less obscure at their base.
