Remarks
.
Psilochaeta chalybea
was redescribed by
Carvalho (1989)
, and presents a significant morphological similarity with
Psilochaeta violescens
(Dodge)
, endemic to
Chile
. This similarity is observed in their metallic coloration and terminalia morphology.
Biology
. This species is associated with human envirounment (
Figueroa-Roa & Linhares 2004
). The specimens captured by authors were collected on decaying beef liver, chicken viscera, and dog faeces.
