Coloration . In formalin preservative ( Fig. 1 A). Carapace and pleon brown, pereopods reddish brown in general. The fresh coloration of Galathea ternatensis is illustrated by Macpherson & Cleva (2010: fig. 3I , J) . Distribution. Widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific: southern Japan , South China Sea, Philippines , Indonesia , New Guinea ,Western Australia , New Caledonia , Maldives , Seychelles (Providence), Madagascar , and Mozambique Channel; depths of 18– 210 m . Now known from the Persian Gulf. Remarks. The present specimen agrees well with the previous descriptions and diagnoses of G. ternatensis by Miyake & Baba (1963) and Baba (1977) .
