Dorsal setae smooth, except Z5 which are lightly serrate. Peritreme ­ Reaching level of j1. Venter ­ Ventral shields smooth. Distances between ST1­ST3 57(51­61) [56], ST2­ ST2 66(61­74) [71], ST5­ST5 66(62­77) [72]. With 2 pairs of metapodal shields. Ventrianal shield 53(50­58) long, 66(61­80) [58] wide at ZV2 level and 96(88­107) [72] wide at anus level. Spermatheca ­ Calyx cup­shaped, 10(8­19) long; atrium small. Legs ­ Macrosetae of leg IV knobbed and macrosetae of other legs blunt to sharptipped: SgeI 25(16­32) [27], SgeII 25(22­30) [24], SgeIII 30(26­40) [28], StiIII 24(21­26) [19], SgeIV 49(43­58) [51], StiIV 35(29­40) [47], StIV 66(53­77) [75]. MALE (Specimens measured – Rwanda: 1). Dorsum ­ Dorsal shield as in female, 264 long and 205 wide. Setae j1 30, j3 32, j4 broken, j5 16, j6 24, J2 22, J5 6, z2 30, z4 34, z5 21, Z1 27, Z4 32, Z5 53, s4 46, S2 35, S4 32, S5 32, r3 21, R1 11. Dorsal setae smooth, except Z5 which are lightly serrate. Peritreme ­ Reaching level of z2. Venter ­ Ventrianal shield 104 long, 141 wide at anterior corners. Legs ­ Macrosetae sharp­tipped on legs II and III and knobbed on leg IV: SgeII 21, SgeIII 26, StiIII 24, SgeIV 35, StiIV 32, StIV 56. REMARKS: Contrary to the original description, the type specimen examined also had striations on the dorsal shield between J2 and Z4. The largest specimen examined was the only one collected in Cameroon; the setae of this specimen were concurrently longer than in other specimens. FIGURE 14.
