( Figs 180 , 189 , 206–208 ) LSID: urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 12B78561-13D1-45C8-985C-A8DD469473EA Material examined. Holotype , Brazil : MT , Sinop , -11.8735 -55.4731 , 390 m , 27.viii.2012 , ( D.L. Queiroz ) #340 ( UFPR , dry mounted). Paratypes . Brazil : MT : 4 ♂ , 14 ♀ , same data as holotype ( NHMB , UFPR , dry and slide mounted, 70% etha- nol). Description. Adult. Colouration. Pale yellow, with hardly any dark pattern except for black frons. Antennal segments 4–6 ochreous basally, almost black apically. Thoracic dorsum with very indistinct light ochreous pattern consisting of spots and longitudinal lines. Structure. Antenna 4.5–4.6 times as long as head width. Clypeus, in ventral view, straight anteriorly. Rostrum moderately long, 0.5–0.6 times as long as head width, segment 3 0.8–0.9 times as long as segment 2. Forewing ( Fig. 180 ) 3.1–3.2 times as long as head width, 2.8–2.9 times as long as wide; cell cu 1 0.6 times higher than wide; surface spinules in cell r 2 above bifurcation of M moderately densely spaced, arranged in transverse rows. Metatibia 0.9 times as long as head width; with 3+2 sclerotised apical spurs. Terminalia as in Figs 189 , 206–208 . Male proctiger 0.4 times as long as head width. Paramere, in profile, weakly S-shaped, slightly irregularly narrowing from broad base to narrow apex; outer face with long, evenly spaced hairs; apex bearing two sclerotised teeth, a larger one directed backwards and a smaller one directed inward; inner face with long setae, particularly long along hind margin in basal half. Distal portion of aedeagus weakly inflated in apical third, forming a slender hook. Female proctiger 0.7 times as long as head width, dorsal outline with distinct bend in the middle, apical process weakly inflated; circumanal ring 0.3 times as long as proctiger. Female subgenital plate 0.7 times as long as proctiger, ventral outline, in profile, relatively strongly curved with distinct bend in the middle; apex forming small point. Measurements (in mm) and ratios ( 1 ♂ , 1 ♀ ). Head width 0.78, 0.82; antenna length 3.58, 3.72; fore- wing length 2.44, 2.60; male proctiger length 0.34; paramere length 0.18; length of distal segment of aedeagus 0.24; female proctiger length 0.60. Fifth instar immature unknown. Etymology. Noun in apposition. From Greek λεπτóς = slender and πέος = penis for the slender apical dilatation of the distal segment of aedeagus. Distribution . Brazil (MT). Host plant, biology and habitat unknown. Comments . Platycorypha leptopeus differs from other species of the Platycorypha atrifrons -group as indicated in the key. It resembles P. amazonica in the paramere which has a backwards directed apical sclerotised tooth and is densely covered in long setae on the inner face. It differs in the more evenly narrowing paramere and the apically more slender aedeagus.
