The specific name is a patronym honoring Alex Enrique Sánchez Jardines, the son of the first author. Diagnosis . Both sexes resemble similar congeners Nops maculatus and Nops amazonas n. sp. by having long PLS and elongated posterior umpaired claws; but can be distinguished by having the embolus shorter than tibia length in males ( Fig. 44B‒C ) and a remarkable ess in females ( Fig. 44E ). Description . Male ( holotype ): Carapace and legs orange ( Fig. 44A ); chelicerae, labium, endites and sternum yellowish orange; coxae lighter. Abdomen light gray, dorsal pattern with light gray chevron bands as in figure 6K, lighter ventrally. Anal tubercle and spinnerets light gray. Total length 8.5. Carapace 4.15 long, 3.8 wide. Sternum 3.6 long, 3.15 wide. Leg measurements: I: 3.8; II: 3.75; III: 3.45; IV: 4.0. Posterior unpaired claws elongated and dorsally reflexed. PLS longer than PMS. Palp with embolus shorter than palpal tibia, slightly curved, but strongly twisted ( Fig. 44B‒C ); embolar tip with two ventral short extensions ( Fig. 45E‒F ). Female ( paratype ): Carapace pale yellow. Chelicerae, labium, coxas, legs, endites and sternum as in male. Abdomen as in male ( Fig. 44D ). Anal tubercle and spinnerets whitish yellow. Total length 9.1. Carapace 4.4 long, 4.1 wide. Sternum 3.95 long, 3.4 wide. Leg measurements: I: 4.0; II: 3.9; III: 3.6; IV: 4.25. Posterior unpaired claws ( Fig. 45J ) and PLS as in male. External genital area with weakly sclerotized anterior plate, strongly sclerotized lep and remarkable ess ( Fig. 44E ). Internal genitalia with receptaculum without invagination and uterus externus with narrow base ( Figs 44F ; 45A‒C). Natural history . Most of specimens were collected with arboreal funnel traps. Distribution . Brazilian States of Amazonas and Pará ( Fig. 44G ).
