Teudis hirsutus Mello-Leitão, 1938: 316 , figs 6, 7 (male holotype from Corumbataí 22°13’12”S; 47°37’33”W, São Paulo, Brazil, 20.XI.1935, S. Burian leg., deposited in IBSP 3460, examined).

Diagnosis. Males of X. hirsuta resembles those of X. gracilipes by the conical extremities of the branches of the retrolateral tibial apophysis and by the subtriangular median tibial apophysis, but differ from this species by the male palp with conductor of Anyphaeninae flattened at the tip and with a retrolateral keel, and the short extremities of the branches of the retrolateral tibial apophysis ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A–F). Females differ from congeners by the epigynal plate elongated, with the anterior border with the same width as the posterior border ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 G).

Description. Male (IBSP 3460). Carapace orange, darkest in cephalic region ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A, B). Labium and endites orange. Sternum yellowish. Chelicerae reddish brown. Abdomen grayish. Legs I–IV yellow, darkest at tarsi. Total length 8.1, carapace length 3.9, width 3.34. Clypeus height 0.15. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.22, ALE 0.25, PME 0.21, PLE 0.21; AME–AME 0.06, AME–ALE 0.05, PME–PME 0.23, PME–PLE 0.21, ALE–PLE 0.05. Chelicerae 2.25 long, with five promarginal teeth and five retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I —femur 4.5/ patella 2.0/ tibia 5.0/ metatarsus 4.65/ tarsus 1.95/ total 18.1; II—4.15/ 1.9/ 4.1/ 3.84/ 1.5/ 15.49; III —3.0/ 1.4/ 2.15/ 3.0/ 0.95/ 10.5; IV—4.1/ 1.5/ 3.55/ 5.05/ 1.15/ 15.35. Leg spination: I—tibia p1-1-0, metatarsus v2 -0-0; II—tibia p1-1-0, metatarsus v2 -0-0; III—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1; IV—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Palp: Median apophysis straight medially ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C), median tibial apophysis short and curved ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 D–F). Abdomen: length 4.2, epigastric furrow 0.5 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 1.9 from base of spinnerets.

Female (MCN 311). Coloration as in male ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 C, D). Total length 10.5, carapace length 4.7, width 3.4. Clypeus height 0.27. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.22, ALE 0.2, PME 0.2, PLE 0.22; AME–AME 0.12, AME–ALE 0.08, PME–PME 0.27, PME–PLE 0.22, ALE–PLE 0.12. Chelicerae 2.25 long, with four promarginal teeth and five retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 4.0/ patella 1.3/ tibia 3.8/ metatarsus 3.45/ tarsus 1.65/ total 14.2; II—3.55/ 1.75/ 3.1/ 2.9/ 1.25/ 12.55; III—2.8/ 1.3/ 2.05/ 2.6/ 0.95/ 9.7; IV—4.05/ 1.65/ 3.2/ 4.55/ 1.05/ 14.5. Leg spination: I—tibia v2-2 -0, p0, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; II—tibia v1- 2 -0, p0-1-0, r0, metatarsus v2 -0-0, p0, r0; III—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1; IV—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Abdomen: length 6.1, epigastric furrow 0.62 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 3.05 from base of spinnerets. Epigynum: seminal receptacles in the middle of the copulatory ducts. Fertilization ducts short arising from lateral sides of spermathecae ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 G, H).

Variation. Males (n = 8): total length 7.3–10.0; carapace 3.2–4.65; femur I 3.34–4.55. Females (n = 5): total length 10.5–12.2; carapace 4.1–4.9; femur I 3.55–4.25.
