( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 )

MADAGASCAR: Ampanihy , spiny dry bush, 250 m a. s. l., - 24.661890° S, 44.710957° E GoogleMaps ; 16 iii 2015, leg. Anton Krištín, CH 8601, female.

This large specimen fits very well the description of Trigonocorypha maxima by Carl (1914). It is the first time that the species was found again and the first indication of its distribution in Madagascar. It should be noted that the specimen at hand differs in the colour of the side keels of the pronotum which are intensely black in Carl’s six specimens and yellow in our animal ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ). The significance of this difference (from variation in color to new species) is completely unknown.

Habitat. The specimen was found in spiny dry bush with endemic Alluaudia dumosa, Commiphora sp., Dombeya sp., Euphorbia arahaka in the twilight.
