Phytocoris ohataensis Linnavuori, 1963 View in CoL

( Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4 D–E, 5, 6E, 8, 10, 11, 13)

Phytocoris ohataensis Linnavuori, 1963: 74 View in CoL (sp. nov.); Schuh, 1995: 896 (cat.); Kerzhner & Josifov, 1999: 158 (cat.); Yasunaga, 2001: 256 (diag.); Schuh, 2002–2014: (cat.).

Phytocoris scotinus Kerzhner, 1977: 8 View in CoL (sp. nov.); Schuh, 1995: 906 (cat.); Kerzhner & Josifov, 1999: 159 (cat.); Yasunaga, 2001: 256 (diag.); Schuh, 2002–2014: (cat.); Yasunaga & Schwartz, 2015: 43 (diag. syn.).

Diagnosis. Recognized by its moderate size; dorsum pattern highly diverse, pale brown to dark brown, or green; long, slender right paramere ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ); male lobal sclerite leaflike, ovate ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ). Similar to P. minakatai , but easily distinguish by longer antennal segment III and labium ( Figs. 4 View FIGURE 4 D–E). In Korea, this species can be confused with P. intricatus , but can be distinguished by key (Couplet 6) below and the more ovate lobal sclerite. For more figures, diagnostic characters and description, see Kerzhner (1977, 1988a) and Yasunaga & Schwartz (2015).

Distribution. Japan, Korea, Far-East Russia.

Host plants. Adults were found from Abies sachalinensis F. Schmidt , Larix leptolepis (Sieb. et Zucc.) Gordon , Picea glehnii (F. Schmidt) Mast. , P. abies (L.) H. Karst. P. pungens Engelm. (Pinaceae) , Salix spp. ( Salicaceae ), Rhus javanica L. ( Anacardiaceae ) ( Yasunaga & Schwartz, 2015); but immatures are yet to be found.
