Distribution: Southern New Guinea and northern Australia.
Countries: Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
Habitat: Marine and brackish waters.
Maximum size: 360 mm TL.
Material examined: AMS I.27418-001 (1 c&s), Australia, North Territory, Murgenella Creek ; CAS 60485 (2 al, 150-193 mm TL), Papua New Guinea, Moinamu (Kikori R.), gulf of Papua ; NTM F.188 (5 al, 233-256 mm TL), Australia, Northern Territory, west of Alligator River .
