"Belus, près de Saint-Jean-d’Acre, en Syrie" [in the Na’aman river, near Acre], Israel.
Remarks.
Heller et al. (2002: 596) considered the species as a junior synonym of Melanopsis costata (Olivier, 1804). Heller et al. (2005: 244) in turn treated it as an accepted name.
