Type Material. Holotype (male): Fianarantsoa, Namorona River , 7 km W Ranomafana, flight intercept-yellow pan trap in malaise trap in small clearing, montane rainforest, elev. 1100 m, 21° 15' S, 47° 25' E, 22–31 x 1988, W. E. Steiner ( USNM). GoogleMaps

Differential Diagnosis. Habitus as in Fig. 148 View FIGURES 144 – 148 ; a moderately convex species, only slightly teardrop-shaped and of average length (ca. 0.93 mm). The dorsal adpressed setae are longer than in most species. The aedeagus ( Fig. 158) in lateral view is unique in being distinctively rather abruptly angled at about the distal 2/3 of the main piece.

Description. Size: holotype (length/width, mm): body (length to elytral apices) 0.93/0.52; head width 0.36; pronotum 0.20/0.52; elytra 0.60/0.52; approximate height, lateral view 0.33. Dorsum dark brown. Body form weakly tear-drop shaped. Pronotum with disc weakly shining, very finely effacedly microreticulate, very sparsely finely punctulate, most punctures with moderately long adpressed seta; area posterior to eye (side view) with slightly larger punctures. Elytra very weakly effacedly microreticulate, with punctures and setae similar to those on pronotum.

Males with first three pro- and mesotarsal segments slightly enlarged, with adhesive setae. Labrum simple..Elytral apices truncate.

Etymology. Named in reference to the angulate aedeagus.
