DISTRIBUTION. — Global distribution: Indonesia, northern Australia (as L. arnoldi ) and New Caledonia. Distribution in the New Caledonian region : north: Grand Passage; most of the eastern area of New Caledonia proper; southwestern and southern regions, off Ile des Pins; live in 150-577 m, shells down to 650 m.

REMARKS. — Comparison of the type material of L. arnoldi and L. houbricki confirmed their resemblance in form and in transverse section, and the presence in some specimens of a short apical pipe.
