Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 19 Aug. 2009.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea ( Thailand) and Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, south to northwestern Australia and Queensland ( Australia). Found solitary or in pairs, in reef crevices of the seaward reef slopes, 5–35 m depth. Marine.
