Note. This species was described based on three males and two females collected in Nuwara Eliya , Sri Lanka, but one of the female syntypes was not congeneric with the remaining specimens. We describe this specimen as Devendra amaiti View in CoL sp. nov.

Diagnosis. Males of D. seriatus can be diagnosed from other male Devendra by having the palpal tibia with the RTA median, short and unarmed ( Fig. 12A, B View FIGURE 12 ), the embolus cylindrical ( Fig. 12A, C View FIGURE 12 ) and the median apophysis not extending proximad of its joint with the tegulum ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ). Females of D. seriatus can be diagnosed from other female Devendra by having the epigynum with the median lobe truncate posteriorly ( Fig. 12D View FIGURE 12 ), vulva with the head of the spermathecae arising from elongate tubercles on main body of spermathecae and the opening to copulatory ducts narrow ( Fig. 12E, F View FIGURE 12 ).

DesCription. Male (lectotype): Total length 5.00. Markings typical for the genus. Carapace 2.62 long, 1.87 wide, 0.85 high; clypeus 0.08 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.06, ALE 0.10, PME 0.11, PLE 0.11. Chelicerae 0.92 long; sternum 1.24 long, 1.05 wide; labium 0.44 long; palpal coxae 1.00 long. Spination as in genus description. Leg measurements (Femur + Patella + Tibia + Metatarsus + Tarsus = [Total]): I: 2.10 + 0.82 + 1.83 + 1.75 + 1.50 = 8.00; II: 1.75 + 0.75 + 1.45 + 1.50 + 1.15 = 6.60; III: 1.66 + 0.70 + 1.25 + 1.85 + 1.00 = 6.46; IV: 2.15 + 0.90 + 1.75 + 2.60 + 1.40 = 8.80. Leg formula 4123. Palp: tibia with almost the same length of cymbium, RTA positioned close to the middle of tibia, with tapered apex ( Fig. 12A, B View FIGURE 12 ); cymbium tapering gradually to base; oval tegulum ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ); MA origin central, with prolateral basal projection ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ); short, hyaline conductor ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ); embolus convex, unmodified, gradually tapering to pointed apex ( Fig. 12A–C View FIGURE 12 ).

Female (paralectotype): Total length 6.15. Markings typical for the genus. Carapace 3.10 long, 2.10 wide, 1.10 high; clypeus 0.10 high. Eye diameters: AME 0.08, ALE 0.12, PME 0.12, PLE 0.13. Chelicerae 1.35 long; sternum 1.32 long, 1.16 wide; labium 0.55 long, palpal coxae 1.20 long. Spination as in genus description. Leg measurements (Femur + Patella + Tibia + Metatarsus + Tarsus = [Total]): I: 2.10 + 0.90 + 1.75 + 1.60 + 1.25 = 7.60; II: 1.90 + 0.90 + 1.40 + 1.50 + 1.10 = 6.80; III: 1.80 + 0.75 + 1.25 + 1.70 + 1.10 = 6.60; IV: 2.25 + 0.90 + 1.80 + 2.70 + 1.50 = 9.15. Leg formula 4123. Epigynum: oval epigynal plate; curved fold dividing median lobe and lateral lobes ( Fig. 12D View FIGURE 12 ). Spermathecae rounded with apical projection with glandular opening ( Fig. 12F View FIGURE 12 ). Material examined. Only the types.

Variation. Male (N= 3): total length 4.65–5.35; carapace length 2.60–2.75; femur I 1.90–2.15. Distribution. Known only from the type locality at Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka ( Fig. 14 View FIGURE14 ).
