Pleopeltis tweedieana (Hook.) A.R.Sm., Candollea View in CoL 60(1): 282. 2005.
= Polypodium tweedieanum Hook. , Hooker’s Icon. Pl. 1: t. 86. 1837, as P. “ tweedianum ”
Range: —Northern Peru; Bolivia (CO, LP, SC, TA) to northern Argentina.
Ecology: —Fairly common; saxicolous, terrestrial, and epiphytic in semihumid forests, often dominated by Podocarpus parlatorei , Alnus acuminata , and Myrtaceae ; 700–2600(3000) m.
Notes: — Closely related to P. pleopeltifolia , but generally a smaller plant with narrower pinnae, and with decidedly crenate pinna margins; in fact, one specimen seen has pinnatifid pinnae: Paniagua 1448 ( UC). This also seems to be a thicker-textured, more coriaceous species, perhaps adapted to harsher environments, with more revolute pinna margins .
