Material examined. CHINA. Holotype male, Guangdong Province, Qingyuan City , no detailed locality, 6 October 2015 ( SWUC).
Etymology. The specific name refers to its similarity to Cyclocosmia latusicosta .
Diagnosis. The male of the new species is similar to that of C. latusicosta ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A–E, 2A–D) in having the similar pedipalp, but differs in the opisthosomal disc with slender ribs and grooves, without endocentric concavities in the upper muscle impressions. Two septal ribs between the upper muscle impressions ( Figs 4A View FIGURE 4 , 8C View FIGURE 8 ) are longer than in C. siamensis ( Schwendinger 2005: 239, figs 28–30), C. lannaensis ( Schwendinger 2005: 249, figs 53–55) and C. subricketti sp. nov., and the ends of these ribs are flush with the bottom of the central muscle impressions.
Description. Male (Holotype; Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 A–E, 4A–D, 7B, 8C). Total length (including chelicerae) 18.51; chelicerae 2.64, carapace 7.80 long, 7.51 wide; abdomen: 8.07 long, 7.31 wide. Carapace and chelicerae black; chelicerae short, broad, paturon with rastellum. Abdomen tawny, with hard opisthosomal disc with 66 ribs arranged in total. Eight eyes on tubercle. Ocular area: 1.02 long, anteriorly wide 2.21, posteriorly wide 2.17, ALE: AME: PLE: PME (0.52: 0.39: 0.37: 0.31), ALE–AME 0.32, AME–AME 0.22, PLE–PME 0.10, PME–PME 0.96. MOA 0.88 long, front width 1.00, back width 1.47. Clypeus height 1.04. Maxilla 0.89 long, 1.30 long. Sternum 4.52 long, 4.40 wide. Legs reddish black. Leg measurements: I 25.00 (8.34, 2.72, 6.15, 5.56, 2.23); II 20.29 (6.39, 2.74, 4.63, 4.54, 1.99); III 19.12 (5.95, 2.18, 3.65, 4.53, 2.81); IV 24.05 (6.85, 2.56, 4.66, 6.65, 3.33). Leg formula: 1423. Tibia width (1.93: 1.91: 2.25: 2.36). Pedipalpal bulb sclerotized and smooth. Embolus long.
Female unknown.
Distribution. Known only from Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, China.
