Distribution. Native. Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Española, Floreana, Genovesa, Isabela, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz.
Material examined. Galápagos: Española: Bahia Manzanilio, 5 m, arid zone, MT, 23.iv.–2.v.1992, S.B. Peck (2 ♁, 3 ♀, CNC). Floreana : Scalesia zone, 380 m, sweeping , 25.iii.1989, B.J. Sinclair (1 ♁, CNC). Genovesa : Bahia Darwin, 20 m, Bursera forest, MT , 10–27.iii.1992, S.B. Peck (2 ♁, 1 ♀, CNC). Isabela : Sierra Negra, 1000 m, sweeping pamp , 3–11.ii.1989, B.J. Sinclair (5 ♁, CNC). Santa Cruz : Puntudo, 650 m, Scalesia forest , 1–30.iii.1989, MT , S.B. Peck & B.J. Sinclair (2 ♁, CNC). San Cristóbal: 4 kmE Baquerizo , 150 m, trans. zone, MT , 12–23.ii.1989, S.B. Peck & B.J. Sinclair (1 ♀, CNC) .
Remarks. This species ranges from arid to highland humid zones. Adults of this species were reared from the Galápagos native species, Agrius cingulata (Fab.) (Sphingidae) .
