Hylophilus picinus var. rufescens Pic, 1905 , syn. nov.; Type: MNHN

This species presents striking morphological similarities with Z. dentatifemur (Pic, 1912) , including a longitudinal stripe of pubescence on the pronotum midline and the overall shape of the male genitalia. The shape of the tibiae, however, notably on the forelegs is unambiguously different.
Material examined. Singapore: (C. J. Saunders) V.1922 (1 ♂, BMNH); (C. J. Saunders) 1.I.1923 (1 ♀, BMNH) ; Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City (1 ♂ and 2 sp., MNHN); Ho Chi Minh City (J. Barbier) (5 sp., MNHN; 1 ♂, NGPC, from Pic collection); Mt [interpreted as Vietnam, M ỹ Tho] (1 ♂ lectotype, label added « Hylophilus picinus Fairmaire, 1893 , Lectotype ♂, N. Gompel des. 2018 ») .
