It has a wide distribution encompassing much of North America, with northern Mexico as the southern range of the species. This species specializes on the pollen from squash plants in the genus Cucurbita L. ( Hurd & Linsley 1964). Within Baja California, it has only been documented in the Lower Colorado Desert in Mexicali Valley, as detailed in the records by Hurd & Linsley (1964). See fig. 120.
