Winthemmyia angustata (Kröber) View in CoL

( Figs. 42–50 View FIGURES 42–50 )

angustata Kröber (1913:29 View in CoL orig. desc.) ( Psilocephala View in CoL ); Irwin and Webb (1992:87 checklist, comb. change) ( Brachylinga View in CoL ). Type locality Brazil, Bahia. Holotype female in ZMHB. New combination.

Diagnosis. Winthemmyia angustata can be separated from other South American genera by the spermathecal sac duct being over 3 times the length of the spermathecal sac; the autapomorphic characteristic of the distiphallus ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 42–50 ) being broad, its lateral margins parallel forming a broad canopy; the apical margin of the distiphallus being deeply emarginate on both sides of the median extension of distiphallus with these apicolateral projections curving medially to a narrow apex and bearing several short, dark setae.
