Male ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A– D, 7F, 8E): head and mesosoma brownish-yellow, metasoma black; supraclypeal area raised into sharp longitudinal carina, on either side of which is a low but distinct ridge that diverges laterally towards the mandibular base; antennal scape gradually widening basally (expanding in apical half in W. kuruandensis ); mandible basally with one dentiform projection on its internal margin; wing-remnant short, stick-shaped with one macrochaeta.

Affinities. Male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 D–F). Males of W. nigrabdomina , W. microcarpae and W. kuruandensis share a rectangular head, antennae that are inserted close to each other, and a sub-clavate scape (see discussion).

Antennal formula 11253 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B); scape a little more than 8× as long as broad, cylindrical; pedicel less than 1.5× as long as wide; flagellum with basal two segments forming two small equal anelli, flagellomeres 3–7 forming funicle, the segments all wider than long except basal segment longer than wide, and flagellomeres 8–10 fused to form a club slightly longer than 1.5× its maximum width. Mandible ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 C) about 1.5× as long as wide, tridentate with three glands. Fore wing ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 F) about twice as long as wide; distal one-third slightly pubescent, marginal fringe short; submarginal, marginal, stigmal, and postmarginal veins approximately in ratio of 28:14:5:6; stigmal vein with four rounded sensilla distally (as in Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 F). Hind wing about 3.5× as long as wide; submarginal vein about equal in length to marginal vein; marginal fringe long. Fore leg ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 E) with coxa twice as long as wide; femur a little less than 3× as long as wide, widest in middle; tibia longer than coxa, about 0.8× length of femur, and a little more than 4× as long as wide, distally with two small spines on dorsal side and five odontoid spines and a long bifid apical spur on ventral side; tarsus about 0.75× length of tibia; basal tarsomere about one-third length of tarsus and shorter than following three tarsomeres combined. Mid leg ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 F) with femur a little more than 4× as long as wide, widest in middle; tibia long, about 9× as long as wide, about the length of femur and trochanter combined, armed with numerous long setae and a long apical spur; tarsus about equal in length to femur, two-thirds length of tibia; basal tarsomere a little less than 0.4× length of tarsus and shorter than following three tarsomeres combined. Hind leg ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 G) with coxa a little more than twice as long as wide, distinctly reticulate-punctate dorsally; femur large, 3× as long as wide; tibia equal in length to femur, a little less than 4.5× as long as wide, with numerous long setae, a pair of unequal apical spurs, and about 20 odontoid spines; tarsus a little more than two-thirds length of tibia; basal tarsomere about one-third length of tarsus and equal to the following three tarsomeres combined.
