Viola demetria Prolongo ex Boissier (1839: 73) View in CoL

Synonyms:— Viola tricolor Linneus (1753: 935) var. demetria (Prolongo ex Boiss.) Nyman (1854 –55: 228) ≡ Viola arvensis Murray (1770: 73) subsp. demetria (Prolongo ex Boiss.) W. Becker (1904: 40 , 47)

Notes: —This name was previously typified by Burdet et al. (1991), providing the specification of the herbarium and the collection but not followed by any available number permanently and unambiguously identifying the lectotype (ICN, Recommendation 9C.1, Turland et al. 2018): “ G, ex herbier Boissier (3 feuilles). Obs. 1. Recently, the three not numbered sheets at G have been rearranged in two sheets and it cannot be ascertained which of them was selected as lectotype. Then, according to Art. 9.17 of ICN, the type citation of Burdet et al. (1991) must be accepted as the first-step lectotypification and it is narrowed to a single specimen, G00343993 ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ), by a second-step lectotypification.
