Villa paniscoides Bezzi, 1912 View in CoL
Villa paniscoides Bezzi, 1912: 624 View in CoL .
This is the first record of this species from the Egyptian fauna. It can be easily distinguished by the black scale tufts at sides of tergites 3 and 5–6, those on 5–6 long, longer than tergite length; and by its elongate parallel sided abdomen. The genitalia are as illustrated by Greathead (1967). The male and two female syntypes in BMNH were examined.
This species was described from Malawi but is also known from eastern and northeastern Africa and Arabia.
