Idioscopus decoratus Viraktamath 1976: 236–37 View in CoL , figs 15–22.

Diagnosis. Virescent, pronotum, mesonotum and clavus greenish yellow, face ochraceous, two round spots on fore margin of head, small basal triangles on mesonotum and one round spot on third apical cell, black. Male pygofer with ventral margin convex with a small ventral process; anal collar process hooked, style apex without tooth-like process; aedeagus with sinuate shaft, dorsal apodeme well-developed.

Description. Female. Sternite VII about 1.8× as wide as long medially, Posterior margin convex with median lobe ( Fig. 62E View FIGURES 62 ). Valvula I curved ventrally, gradually narrowed to bluntly pointed apex; sculptured area occupying almost distal 0.5 length, strigate, strigae almost vertical and reaching dorsal margin ( Figs 70 View FIGURES 70 MN). Valvula II curved ventrally, of uniform width throughout, apex rounded; toothed area not prominent, with very few effaced widely separated teeth ( Figs 70 View FIGURES 70 OP).

Material examined: Several males and females from INDIA: Karnataka: Mudigere, Jog Falls, Bantwal, Shivamogga, Makuta, Sirsi, Siddapura, Unchlli Falls, Sakleshpura, collected during January,, April, May and December. The species was collected on Piper nigrum L. ( Piperaceae ) in Sakleshpura .

Remarks. Viraktamath (1976) adequately described and illustrated the species. It is a small species common in Western Ghats. This species is included in the genus Ulavius tentatively as it has a short median ventral process on male pygofer and ventral margin of the pygofer is fairly convex. However, the sinuate aedeagal shaft with apex attenuated beyond gonopore and well-developed preatrium place it in the genus.
